This is a 316 stainless steel dive door ladder, version 2. It gives swimmers and divers a way to climb back aboard through a side dive door.
Dive door ladders are installed at hull side doors on center consoles and dual consoles, where the ladder is submerged in use and stowed wet. 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion than 304 grades in saltwater.
