This is a 316 stainless steel bulkhead seat frame, version 2. It is supplied without a handle and without the white cover, providing the structural frame for a bulkhead mounted seat.
Bulkhead seat frames are used at console fronts, transom bulkheads and fold down seating positions, where they carry occupant load and stay exposed to the elements. 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion than 304 grades in saltwater.
