Receivers are mounted on leaning posts, seat bases and helm stations so backrests can be installed or removed as needed. 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion from salt spray than 304 grade. A polished finish leaves a smooth surface that sheds salt and is easier to keep clean.
