This is a cabin door catch in polished 316 stainless steel. It holds a cabin door closed, or open against a stop, so it does not swing while the boat is running.
Door catches are installed on cabin entries, head doors and console doors. 316 stainless resists salt air corrosion better than 304, and the polished finish keeps a clean appearance at a high visibility, high touch location.
