This is an offset receiver for a head door, in polished 316 stainless steel, referenced as R25. The receiver is the strike that the door latch engages to hold the head door closed.
Head door receivers are mounted on the door frame or bulkhead inside the console or cabin. 316 stainless resists salt air corrosion better than 304, and the polished finish keeps it clean looking in an area that is often humid and poorly ventilated.
